I cant stop eating, its like I never get full!!!

I need help!!  I keep eating and eating and eating.  I am embarassed to tell how much I ate today!  I dont understand why I never get full unless I eat so much that I end up making myself puke.  I never had this problem before.  I know people say eat slow and wait 30min to an hour.. and you will get full.  I dont though..

Does anyone have any type of advice for me.. I am on witts end here! 

On a better note.. I worked out tonight and it felt so good.. I havent gained any weight from my massive eating but I know I am bound to if I keep on.

    Maybe its time to see a doctor..if your serious about never feeling full.
    One of my nephews has this problem..not to worry you..but he has a disease…he overeats..he has never known what it is like to be full. While I really doubt you have this…been like this since he was a child…but there could be other medical reasons why….why drive yourself nuts…could be you need a medicine or something….good luck..Debbie

    I have spells of the same thing. I have tried harder to fill myself with fresh fruits and veggies before having anything that was not as good for me like meats, dairy, etc. Not that those are bad, I just know that veggies are super good for you. As for the energy levels, I am still struggling there. I still haven’t started exercising myself so I can’t really help you in that area either (unless we count housekeeping as exercise—hehe).
    Just hand in there. I know that all of this is still new. It takes a few weeks to really get “dieting” or “eating habits” instilled into the brain as part of daily living. It will get better. You will catch yourself one day reaching for something healthy right beside something not so healthy and thinking “I honestly would rather have the food that is better for me”. Hang in there girl. You are on your way back to a slim, sexy you!!!

    Maybe you are eating while you are distracted, you tend to eat alot more that way. Or maybe your eating out of boredom. You need to figure out whats really behind the eating… are you tired, upset, angry, etc?

    Funny this is exactly what my last blog was about, Ive been doing that for a while. I cant understand what causes this… I know it has something to do with emotion’s… Like if I’m too happy or if I’m feeling self consious… Two triggers… I think finding a trigger will help. Im still analyzing mine… :)

    Hey - to eat, eat and eat - yes Ive been there - something does not switch of in you! YOu just keep eating. In this case apart from seeing the doc - u need to take a firm hand to your self - make sure what you eat is 50% of healty food on the dinner / breaky/lunch plate - same goes for snacks…. 2. eat every 3 hours. YOU HAVE to promise yourself to do this , its hard 1 day, 7 days, 10 days - u ‘ll start to get in to habit. U will eat regulary so your not starving - and a fair bit of healthy stuff - so you dont feel guilty! It a good starting step - hope it helps!

    Hey girlie, I’m like you. I feel hungry constantly, but it’s partly because of the pill I’m on at the minute, and partly because before I started dieting, I used to be a grazer. I’d actually eat every 10 minutes or so.

    I just have to keep telling myself that I’m not actually hungry. It’s just my head playing tricks on my stomache. I eat something small mid morning and mid afternoon to prevent too much of a blood sugar dip between breakfast, dinner and supper, which helps for the most part.

    *raises hand* been there too many times,but honestly since I started eating the 6 mini meals a day, I have not been hungry. One key thing is we arent supposed to eat until we are “full”..we are supposed to stop when that hunger signal in our brain stops beating us to death. Eating until we are satisfied is what I have heard. I know easier said than done right…But I firmly believe if you feed yourself these small things once every 2 hours or so, your stomach won’t growl and you will feel better since you have a steady stream of nutrients going to your body. :)

    I know you can do this. We all have to retrain our brains and our stomachs for a healthier lifestyle. hang in there girl!

    before you eat like while your cooking drink 2 big glasses of water it will fill your tummy up..

    also what about a starting off with a salad with a light dressing then eat your maincourse. remember no eating in front of a tv.. and eat on a smaller darker plate..

    doll do all that you can now to fix this problem..

    i know what its like to live with an ED its extremely hard for me to eat right and not to purge but once you start it will consume you

    HEY THIS SOUNDS LIKE ME TOO. FOR A WHILE BEFORE I DECIDED TO START ON THIS SITE AND MY DIET I WAS ACTUALLY EATING LIKE THIS AND IS ANOTHER REASON FOR MY WEIGHT GAIN, YOU WONT BELIEVE I GAINED ABOUT 15 LBS IN ABOUT 1OR 2 MONTHS!! I WAS VERY DEPRESSED AND DUE TO THAT IS HOW I GOT HERE AND DECIDED TO START OVER. THE FIRST FEW WEEKS I STARTED WERE THE WORSE I WAS ALWAYS HUNGRY BUT IVE LEARNED SOME TIPS FOR ME THAT WORK AND NOW I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A LITTLE MORE CONTROL OF WHAT I EAT!
    1. BREAK DOWN YOUR MEALS TO ABOUT 4 OR 5 SMALL MEALS THROUGH OUT THE DAY, EATING ABOUT EVERY 3HRS.
    2. I ALWAYS HAVE THE AQUAFINA 1.5LITER WATER BOTTLE WITH ME, eVERYWHERE!!! DRINK WATER ALL DAY DONT THINK QUANTITY JUST DRINK IT. AT FIRST I COULDNT DRINK SO MUCH BUT EVEN IF YOU DONT FEEL THIRSTY JUST HAVE SOME EVERY WHILE, THE TRUTH IS WE SHOULD NEVER ‘FEEL’ THIRSTY BECAUSE BY THE TIME WERE DYING FOR SOMETHING TO DRINK IS WHEN WE ARE ALREADY dEHYDRATED!
    3.IF YOUVE CHEATED ON YOUR DIET TRY NOT TO, THE FIRST FEW DAYS ARE THE HARDEST BUT IVE FOUND OUT EVERYTIME I START A DIET THE FIRST WEEK IS THE HARDEST AND THEN ISTART GETTING USED TO I MORE AND HAVE MORE CONTROL.
    4. KEEP WORKIN OUT!! BELIEVE ME IT WORKS!!!
    IVE NEVER BEEN A FAN OF EXERCISE IN SCHOOL I USED TO FAIL P.E. CLASS….
    BUT SINCE I JOINED THE GYM EVERY TIME I FINISH A WORKOUT I FEEL GREAT AND YOU USUALLY GET HUNGRY AFTER WICH IS NORMAL WE JUST HAVE TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES AND EAT SOMETHING HEALTHY.
    5. INCLUDE IN MOST OF YOUR MEALS “PROTEIN” I DO SO IN MINE AND THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS BECAUSE OF THE NUTRIENTS AND ALL THAT IT HELPS KEEP YOU FROM BEING HUNGRY ALL THE TIME.

    look at yourself in the mirror? are you happy with who you are?? if you not then stop!! do this- eat only healthy things until you get to saturday, then eat whatever you want for two hours. if you ever have a craving during the week then just remember youll be able to have it on saturday!!

    I ahve alwa ys been LARGE. I can eat a holiday meal, turn around 5 minutes later and eat another. This can go on indefinitly.Doctors tell me its all in my head. Thats what everyone tells me. I have to tell myself to stop eating. I can feel full for a whole 5 min.then it goes away. I am tipping the scaes at 300 and still am trying to loose weight. It is a nonstop thing for me..I have high blood pressure,insomnia,breathing problems, anxiety and severe heart palpataions. Every doctor tells me the same thing..Loose weight.Execize. My knees are bad, my legs swell, I can’t walk more than a block before I cannot breathe. I know I need help, I can even keep a food log, the whole thing. Been there done that. Every diet..When I was 17 an old doctor put me on a pill. That helped. Have no idea what it was. But it heled me and I lost weight.I need help..

    I have the same problem. I can eat more than my husband that is 6′ 8” and 300 pounds. I don’t know why I just can’t seem to get full. EVER!!! I can exercise all I want but I still eat and eat so I can never lose weight. I just don’t know how to quit.

    This site helped me so much!
    I have the same problem and have never had to deal with this before.

    When I start eating I never stop, even if I am painfully full I still seem to eat. It’s like I’m not in control of myself. It’s worse than having the munchies haha it’s all I can compare how much I eat.

    I have never had this problem, I am thin but I don’t want to gain a lot of weight.
    Today I came home at midnight and ate all of this in about 30 mintues
    can of ravioli
    bagel & cream cheese
    3 bananas with chocolate syrup
    strawberries
    4 granola bars
    chewy bar
    yougurt
    crackers, cheese, turkey
    50 pretzels and chocolate milk

    I was soo full I couldn’t even lay on my stomach it hurt so bad.
    I neeeed help!

    i dont no why i never get full i be feeling like i am going to die because i be so hungey i ant to go to the doctor but im scared of what they are going to say someone tell me what it is
